Dror was educated in film and theater at UCLA and in Columbia College Chicago. He has a body of work of more than 20 signature documentaries.

Among his critically-acclaimed documentaries: "Mendelsohn's Incessant Visions" (2011) that won numerous prestigious awards among them - the Golden Award at FILAF art film festival in France; "My Fantasia" (2000) tells the story of his father who was a political prisoner in Iraq; Raging Dove (2002) - the story of Arab-Israeli world boxing champion Johar Abu-Lashin - premiered at SXSW festival and won many awards; The Journey of Vaan Nguyen (2005) - a feature documentary about the Vietnamese "boat people" - was the opening film at the Seoul documentary Film Festival and won the Remi Award at Houston Worldfest.
